This one makes that argument in Chinquapin oak (Quercus muehlenbergii), seasoned for 36 months before toasting and charring, chosen over standard American white oak for its denser grain structure and deeper spice contribution. The result is 108-proof bourbon with more tannic backbone than its category peers — dark fruit and molasses on the palate, baking spice and salted caramel through a long warm finish.
